What You’ll Do:

In this new role, you will lead the business development and partnership building activities for our small but mighty (and growing) consultancy. As the key point of contact for our business development, you’ll cultivate relationships that lead to projects with current and future clients.

Often the first BBMG team member that clients meet, you’ll project our mission, vision, values and smarts from the first interaction. You’ll apply your business development experience to surface and define opportunities to work together.

Working in partnership with one of our co-founders, you will plan and execute business development strategies that use thought leadership and conferences as key opportunities to build awareness of the BBMG brand.

Back at base, you’ll become known as the proposal guru, able to scope a project, plan budgets and deliver proposals in partnership with our strategists and designers.

You’ll actively manage our pipeline of new work to help BBMG meet its financial targets while delivering social impact through carefully chosen projects and clients.

Beyond that, we’ll also expect you to:

  • Collaborate with our COO on client contracting matters
  • Support project teams in kicking off new projects
  • Gather and share latest trends in our industry
  • Identify, target and approach new organizations we’d love to work with
  • Use conferences and industry events to build our network of potential client partners

What You’ll Bring:

  • At least 4 years of professional experience in a consultancy, agency or similar client services role, ideally working on strategy challenges
  • Experience building client relationships, winning pitches and writing successful proposals
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Consultative selling approach: able to listen and react to build solutions to delight clients
  • Strong Keynote/PowerPoint skills and comfort with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Laser-like focus on details big and small

BBMG seeks a seasoned manager and branding expert. A Strategy Director is responsible for leading our talented team by delivering winning strategies that drive impact and inspire action. Successful candidates will demonstrate proven leadership abilities with superior strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills. A strong track record of growing and leading a branding practice is a must.

We are looking for a leader with extensive experience in branding with stellar client service skills. Management experience, strong writing skills in a variety of formats and the ability to facilitate discussions and lead presentations are a must. Candidates must enjoy leading all phases of consulting engagements and implementing brand and innovation initiatives. Knowledge of the social purpose and CSR arena is paramount (best practices and market trends). Demonstrated ability to help solicit and secure new business is also a requirement.

Primary Role & Responsibilities:

Strategy Development and Oversight

  • Guide and supervise interdisciplinary teams to develop branding, innovation, marketing and communications strategies based on insightful analysis and creative ideas.
  • Lead the selection and curation of game-changing ideas, concept refinement and creative development.
  • Determine priority protocols for key project challenges and supervise teams as appropriate.
  • Mastery of BBMG process and protocols.
  • Identify, cultivate and engage pool of experts to aid with ideation.
  • Pitch and present winning ideas and recommendations to senior client teams.

Client Service

  • Develop relationships with senior client stakeholders to build trust and identify priority strategic goals.
  • Serve as a key client contact with senior client contact, where appropriate.
  • Responsible for delivering great work on time and under budget.

Business Development

  • Contribute to the growth and direction of BBMG’s client base by executing strategic plans to meet revenue targets and increase agency profitability.
  • Cultivate new business relationships and strategically grow existing accounts.
  • Develop new business pitches and proposals.
  • Lead contract agreements and related negotiations.
  • Conduct regular market assessments and stay abreast of key trends and local business opportunities.
  • Develop and present thought leadership pieces on behalf of BBMG (conferences, webinars).

Organizational Development

  • Manage and coach strategy staff and oversee local professional development programs.
  • Own strategic relationships with external partners.
  • Identify opportunities and plan for team growth.
  • Participate in agency senior team and staff meetings, providing clear updates, contributing constructive input and taking ownership of agency planning items as appropriate.


  • 10+ years of management experience.
  • 7+ years of direct brand strategy experience.
  • Strong leadership abilities, business acumen, strategic thinking, partnership identification.
  • The ability to swing between roles of Strategic Creative and the Creative Strategist.
  • Hands-on experience in branding, communications and lead generation at a professional services consultancy are crucial.
  • Superior organizational, communication and analytical skills are a must.
  • Exceptional written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • A desire to work in a growing values-driven agency, with shared responsibilities and the expectation to contribute to all project work.
  • Graduate degree in communications or related field and/or MBA strongly preferred.

BBMG is seeking a Finance Director with early-stage business experience to lead financial planning and management at BBMG. We’re a mighty and growing team and need an entrepreneurial business leader to help us achieve our goals.

The Finance Director will be able to combine fiscal diligence with creativity, humor and enterprising spirit. The ideal candidate will have experience in a small to mid-size company and baseline knowledge of – and demonstrable interest in – broader business operations.

This is a senior position that will work closely with the Leadership Team to develop and implement strategies to support the growth, culture and impact of BBMG, while embodying our BBMG’s values of humanity, creativity, courage and growth.

This is a great opportunity for a values-driven financial professional to broaden his/her expertise within a growing mission-led consulting team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day financial oversight and management
  • Oversee and coordinate all financial transactions: employee payrolls and benefits, client and vendor matters, operational expenses
  • Implement internal financial and business processes to support timely decision-making and effective leadership
  • Work closely with the Leadership Team to:
    • manage a balanced pipeline portfolio of projects
    • develop forecasts based on upcoming opportunities
    • support strategy to ensure growth and achievement of internal revenue and profit objectives
  • Provide management and support to BBMG’s current Operations & Finance Manager
  • Coordinate with outside accounting firm around taxes
  • Manage all organizational and financial systems

Secondary Responsibilities (with staff support)

  • Support new business development process by overseeing contracting and financial planning
  • Collaborate internally to plan office meetings, retreats and events
  • Assist in team growth, hiring and human resources, as appropriate
  • Coordinate with outside legal counsel, as necessary

Skills Required

  • 5+ years in Financial and/or Accounting experience, most recently in a managerial role
  • 1-2 years progressive experience in a start-up or growing small business
  • Strong analytical skills and exemplary time management/organizational skills
  • Ability to quickly and effectively assess financial statements and trends
  • Knowledge of GAAP and QuickBooks systems, a must
  • Familiarity with S Corporations and Benefit Corporations, a plus
  • Experience working in client services business, preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Resource Planning & Project Oversight

  • Oversee internal resource planning, capacity forecasting and project tracking using our web-based tool, 10K’ Plans.
  • Help set and track project budgets.
  • Monitor team utilization and identify resourcing needs.
  • Work closely with the consulting group to maintain quality control confirming project schedules and resource needs.
  • Walk in lock step with our Business Development Manager to maintain understanding of our pipeline and new business process.
  • Proactively bridge the gap between our active projects and pipeline.

Recruitment Support

  • Act as liaison and support when engaging project-based talent.
  • Ad hoc support on hiring new full time talent, as needed.

Leadership Team Administrative Support

  • Manage appointments and travel and provide general support for BBMG Leadership Team.
  • Coordinate and manage Principal’s calendar and other needs to maximize his time and impact.
