Allison Ross

Creative Director, From Montreal, Living In New York

With a background in brand development, design strategy and creative direction, Allison leads the design team at BBMG as Creative Director.

Allison has spent the last decade helping brands tell meaningful stories with the goal of shifting culture for good. Prior to BBMG, Allison served as Design Director at JDK (Jager Di Paola Kemp) going deep on design and strategy for brands like Burton and Forum Snowboards, Lululemon, Nike, Planned Parenthood and Seventh Generation to name a few, in both their Burlington, Vermont and Portland, Oregon studios. Allison also wanted to experience design from the brand side and served as Creative Director for the sustainable clothing brand Nau where she led in the re-imagination and re-positioning of the brand, design and product strategies.

Allison studied graphic design and obtained degrees from both Dawson College (DEC) and UQÀM (BAQ) in her hometown of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Yes, she speaks fluent french, but no, she doesn’t like hockey (though she can hockey skate like nobody’s business.)

Describe what you do all day at work in one sentence.
Scare and take care of people.

What’s the most exciting thing about BBMG?
Our clients are pretty special. BBMG’s vision of bringing humanity into business, and using design as a force for change and good attracts some pretty ambitious dreamers.

Who is your favorite writer/author?
I normally read very rational books, but for story time it’s Charles Bukowski all the way.

What kind of music do you listen to?
I don’t even know. Anything sassy I guess that makes me imagine a mini-movie in my head. It can go from Iggy & The Stooges to Nico to Interpol to Rhianna in one playlist. I’ve thoroughly confused Spotify’s algorithms. My weekly discovery playlists are the absolute worst.

One thing about me people probably wouldn’t guess is:
Until very recently I thought caviar came from dolphins.

If you could only eat one thing for lunch for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Dolphin caviar.
